Lower Dens – “Real Thing”

 

Lower Dens' new album, Escape From Evil, comes out March 31.

   Lower Dens’ most recent LP, Escape From Evil, came out back in 2015 and during its rollout we saw a few excellent videos to accompany tracks from the album. Today, Lower Dens released a new song; “Real Thing” which video was conceived and directed by SSION (a.k.a. Cody Critcheloe). Lower Dens is heading back to Baltimore after their current tour, with plans to work on a new album.

 

Jon Hopkins – “Opalescent” reissued

   Jon Hopkins‘ debut album, Opalescent, was reissued and remastered for the first time last week in celebration of the 15th anniversary of its release in a special edition 2 LP gatefold with liner notes. , and now there is a new video to accompany album track ‘Cold Out There’.

 

Stranger Things Soundtrack

Series lovers across the world have been glued to Netflix’s phenomenal new TV series, Stranger Things.  One of its most stand-out components is the phenomenal synthesizer-led score from Austin band S U R V I V E’s Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. The demand has been surging for a release of the score, so the official soundtrack is coming soon. So far S U R V I V E also announced last week that they have signed to Relapse and have a new album, RR7349, due for release on September 30.

When Brooklyn music venue Death By Audio announced its impending closure in fall 2014, a number of higher profile acts who’d performed at DBA were invited back to play the space’s final shows. Those have now been collected into a new 3xLP live compilation Start Your Own Fucking Show Space. Out August 5 via Famous Class, it features live recordings from:

The Wedding Present – “Broken Bow”

The Wedding Present will release their ninth album, titled Going, Going… on September 2 through the band’s own Scopitones label. The band are also doing a short UK “Going, Going” audio-visual tour where they’ll play their forthcoming album in its entirety in front of films.
